For years Japanese tea farmers would hold a little of that year's harvest back from the final sorting and drying stages of production for themselves.  The unremoved stems provided a very natural taste the farmers enjoyed.  Now their secret is out and we can all enjoy this minimally processed, natural tasting sencha.  The twigs add a hint of sweetness.  A high quality sencha that is very affordable.
